Affiliate Disclosure

CrunchYourDollars provides free sizing calculators and running-cost tools. The tools end in a short list of matched products, and some of the links to those products pay us a commission. This page explains exactly how that works.

How we earn money

When a tool recommends a product, the card includes a link to a retailer or to the brand. If that link is a paid link, the card says so directly beneath it ("Paid link: we earn a commission if you buy through Amazon"). If you click a paid link and buy, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. You pay the same price either way.

Amazon: CrunchYourDollars is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Brand programs: we have applied, or plan to apply, to the affiliate programs of brands our tools recommend, including SpringWell, US Water Systems, Aquasana, Anker SOLIX, BLUETTI, EcoFlow and Jackery. Until a program approves us, links to that brand's own store are plain links and earn nothing, and the card tells you which is which.

We may also display advertising through Google AdSense, which pays based on impressions and clicks.

What commissions do not change

  • The sizing math. Grain capacity, watt-hours, running and starting watts and running costs are computed from your inputs and published formulas, and every result has a "show my math" panel.
  • Which products the tool picks or how it ranks them. The tool filters our product database by the capacity, output and features your answers require, then ranks by fit and price. It does not know what any link pays.
  • Whether we list a product at all. Our database includes products we cannot earn from. Where a results list happens to contain only products we can earn from, the page says so.

What we do not do

  • We do not write reviews or assign star ratings. We have not tested these products in a lab.
  • We do not sell your information to contractors or installers, and we do not run lead forms.
  • We do not accept payment to feature a product in a tool.

Prices and specs

Prices shown are approximate street prices on the date noted on each card and change often. Specifications come from manufacturer data sheets and retailer listings and can change when a model is revised. Always confirm capacity, output and compatibility on the retailer page before you buy.
